DesignersCouch: Top Contender in 2009 Pixel Awards
Hey all,
DesignersCouch made the top 10 contender list for the Pixel Awards in the Geek Category. I'd appreciate some love if you can support by voting here: People's Champ
In other news, janvanlysebettens (https://www.deviantart.com/janvanlysebettens) helped me finally launched Design Critique which is a blog that I post at often critiquing design in web, print and advertising. Great content that's not redundant. I've got other bloggers posting as well so it's not just me. If you're interested in being a guest blogger and critique something, hit me up. It can be anything creative: web, identity, graphic design, advertising, photography, illustration, industrial design, motion design, etc.

DC Siliently Launches
After years of promise, the site quietly launches? What's up with that? Maybe it's the calm before the storm. Anyway, check out out, join, hope to see you there:

Typeface Inspired by Comic Books Has Become a Font
Vincent Connare designed the ubiquitous, bubbly Comic Sans typeface, but he sympathizes with the world-wide movement to ban it.

I feel for you. Not the first time I've had an idea (though more related to writing than anything here on dA) that's been done before I can get to it, and I've been a bit frustrated with myself that I hadn't managed to get my version done first.
Don't give up, though. Just from a quick glance at DC, I think it'll still prove successful and useful. You can work with *devCRIT (possibly others if they're out there) to provide the kind of critique and serious community that's geared towards just designers, and I think it'll be handy to have that. I know I'd love some good feedback on my own designs (although, from the sound of it, I'm probably not one of the designers you'd be welcoming since I'm very much a hobbyist and amateur designer).
Good luck. ^^
