Hey all,
DesignersCouch made the top 10 contender list for the Pixel Awards in the Geek Category. I'd appreciate some love if you can support by voting here: People's Champ
In other news, janvanlysebettens (https://www.deviantart.com/janvanlysebettens) helped me finally launched Design Critique which is a blog that I post at often critiquing design in web, print and advertising. Great content that's not redundant. I've got other bloggers posting as well so it's not just me. If you're interested in being a guest blogger and critique something, hit me up. It can be anything creative: web, identity, graphic design, advertising, photography, illustration, industrial design, motion design, etc.

Typeface Inspired by Comic Books Has Become a Font
Vincent Connare designed the ubiquitous, bubbly Comic Sans typeface, but he sympathizes with the world-wide movement to ban it.

Just a correction:
"a country locked in civil war only half a century ago"
- The Civil Rights movement was at this time, but the Civil War happened in the 1860's. I think this makes it even more poignant that Barack has won. Look how long it has taken. When Europe, including Germany, had banned slavery almost 60 years before the U.S. did the Industrial Revolution only engrained it deeper into American society.
Now, a man with a vision has won the presidency of the United States. He ran it without personal attacks. He ran it without fear tactics. He ran it as clean as possible, even when others were telling him that he had to get aggressive. He wisely did not. He showed fortitude and focus, and his campaign has shown us exactly how he will run this Presidency.
This man of Kenyan descent, Barack Hussein Obama, a man of great words, a Constitutional scholar (who better to defend our constitution, especially after it has been trampled on for the past 8 years?), a man who knows how to draw people in with his great smile - has become the first African American President.
I have cried every day since his election. Seeing how people in the world have responded makes me very proud of how far America has come. It took long enough, but then again we were waiting for the right man to come along.
Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America
